Are you Serious???

Most of you know how absurdley picky my kids (and husband) are. For lunch today, I decided I would open a can of Costco chicken and have a sandwich. Well, all of the sudden Cade starts gagging and saying, "What stinks in here???" I start laughing (even though I usually get so ticked at them I could scream!), and say, "I don't know." So, this is how the two of these crazy kids ate their lunch. They pulled their shirts up over their mouth and nose, and would put their apples and chips up under their shirts to their mouths. Seriously...what is wrong with my family???

YARD SALE!!!

Yesterday Rylee didn't have school. I really do truly love these days...she is so good at entertaining her little brother Cade. They decided to have a yard sale in their bedroom. They set it all up...complete with merchandise, cash register and happy clerks. They asked me if I would like to come to their store...Cade said I could use either money or my driver's license to buy stuff. They had lots of fun, and it was a perfect way to spend the day inside, on a very wet, cold and snowy day!

The Happy Salespeople

I told them I would like to buy this cute baby...so Rylee decided she needed to scan Paigey.

LeSsoNs LeARneD

Bart and I decided it would be fun for our family, to go in with a few of his family members on season tickets to the Jazz games. We did...and our kids absolutely love going to the games. Most of the time, Bart takes either Rylee or Cade and I stay home with the other kids. I was feeling a little ripped off, so I asked if I could take Rylee or Cade to a game. So, last Saturday night Rylee and I went. My first lesson learned - Rylee is becoming more and more like me...it is a little scary at times. I have been known to be a list writer, in fact I think I write lists about the lists that need to be written...anyway, a little OCD. Before we left, Rylee wrote a list as to how the night would go. Here is her list:

1) Park
2) Sit down for a minate
3) Go get Dinner
4) Take Picters
5) Be crazy
6) Have two of everything (I'm cheap and packed a few treats in my coat...so she wanted two of each treat)
7) Sit down - Lihts (lights) go out
8) the star spangeld baner
9) lisen to some music
10) Watch the game

She also brought a pen, and would cross off each time one thing was complete. Funny right?

Next lesson I learned: I can't keep up with the DAD!

We have been at the game for probably five minutes and she tells me she is ready for dinner. OK-I take her out and let her pick...she chooses pizza. We go back in and eat our 2 tiny pieces of pizza ($5.75), and our Sprite ($3.25). I don't know if she had even had her last bite of pizza and she says, "OK, now we get ice cream...I would like mint chocolate chip." What? We just ate pizza. I tell her lets wait until it gets closer to half time and she politely says, "Ummm, me and dad get it right now." OK, lets go. We get our ice cream ($5.00). It is about 2 minutes before half time and she says, "Now we go out and watch those guys talk, do you know which direction we go?" I realize she is talking about Big T Bailey and his possey...ok, we go and watch them talk for a bit. Come back and sit down, the third quarter starts, "OK mom, we get one more thing. Do you want popcorn or a big pretzel?" By this time, I am about dying...Bart (being the cheapskate that he is...can't possibly buy her this much crap! So, I call him and ask him if he really does buy her this much crap. "Um yah, I don't let $5 ruin a good night," he says. OK, we go out and buy popcorn ($4.75), and she eats about 5 handfuls and is done. WOW!!! Are you kidding me! When I get home...she tells us that going with dad is funner. RUDE! I think I am done taking kids to the ball games...I can't be under that much pressure. A couple more lessons learned...1) When bart gave me $40 before I left, and asked if that would be enough...he wasn't kidding. 2) Bart totally caters to our kids, and they love it. 3) Bart is an incredible dad, and I wouldn't have it any other way!!!!
