Rylee's New Hair

So, Rylee has been bugging me for months to let her cut her hair short. I think she thought if it was short, she wouldn't have to do it. WRONG! I was very reluctant in the summer, because she gets so hot and sweats. We put her hair up every day! Yesterday I was going to get my hair done, and told her if she wanted to get her hair cut...now was the time. Bart thought it was a little short, but I thought it was a darling change...and Rylee loves it! So, here is the debut.

Paigey Update

Paige is now 5 1/2 weeks old! She is doing so great...we all just love having her around! She is such a content baby, I feel so lucky! Cade tells me everyday about 20 times, "Mom, I love our babes so much!" The last few nights she has even been sleeping until around 4:30 or 5:00 a.m. Not too bad!

Caders!

Cade and his friend Kyler

I kindof feel like my sweet little Caders has been put on the back burner these days. With baby Paige being born, and then Rylee starting kindergarten, poor Cade has been a little forgotten. So, I am dedicating this post to my cute Cade!
As many of you may know, Cade doesn't usually put his S on the front of his S words. For example, lately a very common phrase around our house is:
"Mom, I melled Paige and she dinks, I think she bit up."
Translation: "Mom, I smelled Paige and she stinks, I think she spit up."
Another comment as he was riding his bike in the rain:
"Mom, my shoes are geeky."
Translation: "Mom, my shoes are squeeky."
One last concerning comment as he was eating his package of cheese and crackers:
"Mom, dad doesn't use his dick."
Translation: Dad doesn't use the red stick to spread his cheese on his crackers.
WOW, I am sure glad I understand him and can translate for all those non-understanderers.

I've been Tagged!

Here are the rules...

1. Link to the person who tagged you:
http://gordofam.blogspot.com/
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3.Write six random things about yourself.
4. Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website.

1. I LOVE to go on vacation! It pretty much doesn't matter where we are going, I am totally in for vacations. Sometimes Bart has to go on business trips for 1 night...most people would think it is more a pain in the butt to pack kids up to go, but not me - I will go no matter what! In fact, I have been known to pack up the kids and leave Bart home. If he says he is too busy at work, or any other reason...oh well, I go without him.

2. For some unknown reason, I am addicted to reality TV. I know...blah, blah, blah...it is complete trash and there is nothing uplifting about it, but I can't stop! Every season I say I will not watch The Bachelor...but, it starts, and I watch. I am completely pathetic. Some of my other ridiculous shows - Dancing with the Stars, Real World (ultimate trash!), American Idol, etc.

3. I don't really love watching sports...but I love to watch BYU sports and I am a freak about the Utah Jazz! Our whole Preston side of the family is Jazz freaks. My kids have jerseys, hats, pom poms, etc. We have parties for playoff games and pretty much plan our lives around the Jazz schedule. It's way fun!

4. I have to have my house picked up before I go to bed! About 6 months ago, my neighbors bathroom caught on fire in the middle of the night! As we were all standing outside watching the firemen run in and out of the house, all I could think about was the fact that I would die if they came in my house right now. Ever since then, I am a freak about my house being picked up...just in case something happens in the night. However, since Paige has arrived, I have become somewhat relaxed about my house before bed, simply because I am too tired. Well, wouldn't you know our basement flooded a couple days ago, and we had our neighbor come over at about 7:00 a.m., to a messy house! Oh wow, I better get back on the bandwagon!

5. I absolutely HATE all seafood! I don't even like a tuna fish sandwich! No shrimp, no crab, nothing that has been in the ocean. The best part of it all, I went on my mission to Japan. However, never once did I eat seafood. I would line my backpack with Ziploc baggies! My first night in Japan, an investigator brought me a treat...octopus in a fried batter. Not knowing what it was I put it in my mouth as to not offend. Well, it sat in my mouth and I started thinking about what it could be, and began to dry heave! From then on, I didn't care if I offended people...I would not eat fish!

6. I am pretty much a freak about beds being made! First thing in the morning, I go around and make all the beds. There is nothing that drives me more crazy, than unmade beds. In fact, as I was in major labor with Paige, and we were gathering the kids up to go to the hospital at 3:30 a.m., I told Bart we needed to make the beds...needless to say, he very politely said "HELL NO!"

So, pretty much I tag whoever wants to do this!

3 1/2 Weeks...Hanging in There!

So, our sweet baby Paige is now 3 1/2 weeks old. I can't believe how fast time goes. It's kindof weird with a newborn...I can't believe that she is 3 1/2 weeks old, but yet it seems like she has been in our family forever. She is such a sweet baby, we all love her to death. Some (Rylee and Cade), love her a little too much (Always in her face!). She is definately growing - she is now in a size 1 diaper, and can fit into some of her 0-3 month clothes! We are getting into the routine of a newborn...it's definately different from what we are used to. Here are a few updated pictures that I took today. The first one isn't the cutest of Paige, but my other kids look cute. Notice the last picture, how nice Cade holds her...kindof like a kitty! :)

Off to Conquer the World!

So, I know I am a week late with this post (somehow, I feel like I can't get on top of anything these days), but Rylee had her first day of kindergarten last Monday! She was so excited to start, that I just couldn't possibly cry. I am quite sad to have her gone for 3 hours...she is such a great help! Plus, Bart and I are kindof over protective of our little family, so we just don't like her being gone. On the first day, Bart called me 30 minutes before the bus was to come, wondering why I wasn't at the bus stop. :) I guess this is the start of many big firsts in our lives.
