Oh What Do We Do In The Summertime?

Our family absolutely loves summer nights! Especially the condition that I am in...it is about the only time I exit the house, unless I have to. Anyway, we love to go outside and ride bikes, visit with neighbors, play baseball, lazily sit in the swing, play on the playset and in the sandbox, etc. Tonight we decided to experiment with something that we saw on t.v., "summer bubble bombs", well lets just say that they were duds, but the kids still thought it was fun. We also played baseball, rode bikes and all sorts of other stuff. It makes us sad that summer is almost over, and school is about to begin!

WATCH OUT!!

Tonight we were out enjoying the nice evening and I told Bart he should take off Cade's training wheels on his bike just to see if Cade could do it, mainly because the grandpa down the street has been telling me for quite some time we should do it. Anyway, Bart took them off, and all I can say is "Watch out People!" Bart holds on while Cade gets his balance, and Cade took off down the street screeming "WAHOO!" Besides going totally fast, he is not watching at all where he is going, I couldn't quit laughing. He is a flippin' maniac on that bike, which is why Bart didn't want to take his wheels off up until now. So, he is out there for about 45 minutes, I look over and he is poppin "heelies" (wheelies) as he cruises down the street. I wish I had some pictures to post, but my camera is full and has no room for pictures. Maybe this weekend I can get some pictures. The one good thing in all this, is the fact that he is totally anal about wearing his helmet. Way to go Cade!!!

The Last Hoorah!!!

This past weekend Bart had a retreat for work at the Zermatt resort in Midway. I went with him for Friday night, and the kids stayed at Grandma Barbara's, which is always a party. On Saturday, after my events were over, I went to pick up Rylee and Cade. We had a great day playing at the park, Bart took the kids swimming both Saturday and Sunday morning (7:45 am to be exact), we played mini golf and just had a fun and relaxing weekend. Rylee says that were are going back on July 17th for another trip (I don't know where she came up with that date). Our family loves to go on vacations (even if they are only 30 minutes away), and just spending fun time together!!

Rylee absolutely loves gymnastics! Many of you know, you may be involved in a nice conversation with someone...and along comes Rylee doing a roundoff right in your face, or a kartwheel, or some sort of trick. Recently she had a exhibition meet, here are a few pictures of her in her gear.

Wahoo!!!!

Oh WOW!! I am so excited to announce....my basement may get finished sometime in the next 5 years! After much begging, boobing, bawling (J.K.), Bart has began working on the basement. Cade thinks he is very important in this process, so, he puts on his work goggles, his work gloves (aka winter gloves), his work shoes, tool belt with hammer and heads down stairs with Bart. The best part of it all, when you talk to Cade while he works, he talks in a very low, old man voice...which Rylee says freaks her out because he sounds like a man!

For some reason, my kids think it is funny to put underwear on their head. The other day as I was cleaning, this is what they came in looking like. WOW!!! Weirdies!!
